Smitty’s is pleased to join the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-Prairies/NWT Region and presenting sponsor, St. Vital Centre in announcing another successful year for Batting Against Breast Cancer™.
This was the Fifth Annual Batting Against Breast Cancer Tournament that brought out a record 34 teams to show breast cancer a curve ball.
The goal for this year was $100,000 and to date, $102,242.00 has been raised!
Top Team Totals are:
Team Black Cat – $7,146.00
Pink Slips – $6,726.39
Gayles Crew – $5,172.00
Congratulations to Roddy Goetz. As top individual fundraiser from Team Black Cat he raised just over $3,000 and earned the right to throw the first pitch at the Goldeyes Game on August 12th. He did a fantastic job.
New this year – Team Black Cat will have a wings coined Black Cat Barbeque in their honour for a special limited time.
Thanks to the support from Smitty’s, teams are rewarded with a great pancake breakfast to kick off the tournament and after they leave the field the team can redeem their Smitty’s coupons for their great wings.
Rewarding the teams for their fundraising is Smitty’s way of helping the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-Prairies/NWT Region not only reach, but exceed their goals. By exceeding these goals, we can all ensure that funds can continue to be allocated to breast cancer research and community programs in our region.
The committee and everyone here at the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-Prairies/NWT Region thanks you!
